  • Armadillo rear, Gatorskin front. cheap tyres are false investment, really expensive tyres are a shit investment.

  • Use an elliptical sectioned tyre on the rear. Preferably one with semi-slick sidewalls.

  • rando on the rear, gator on the front

  • cheers for the help, i went for rando on the rear and am runnin a conti ultra sport on the front.

  • ^ ^^ that seems about right, i have the gatorskin on the back and find it grippy like semi dried snot on a towell, ha! rather a front tyre for when your up for skids, if you ask me.

  • Soma Everwears are built for skidding!

You could also go for a odd numbered chainring on the front as this would then put the skid marks in different places on the rear - Soma do a 47t, there maybe others out there if your BCD doesn't suit.

  • skid less

Gators all round, just watch them once they skid in, they flatten....

  • Conti ultra sports seem to be holding up very well.

I dont see how this thread will solve the mixed opinions...

  • I've had a red ultrasport up front for like 2 years and it hasn't worn in the slightest yet. also realised I only have 5 skid patches with 48-15, hence the quick death of many tyres.

  • I meant sports contact, not ultrasport

  • schwalbe stelvio I got 4 months out of my first one, granted I couldnt skid for about a month but begob they last.

  • Rubino Pro on the front...Gatorskin on the back...

  • I've been riding a Fuji Track 2008 for about 4 months now and I've suddenly started to get loads of punctures.

The stock tyres are well known to be pretty dire but can anyone recommend a good upgrade? I don't want to really spend too much on upgrades at this point but some guidance on entry - mid level tyre options would be good.

I was thinking of maybe tryin the Continental Grand Prix as they seem to be about £20 each and the reviews are alright - anyone have experience with these?

  • Fuck me, no one has ever asked about which tyres before on here!

See that little search button up there^^^, use it!

  • Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Really? You've really posted this in all seriousness?

  • bontrager hardcase great tyres grippy as anything haven't punctured with them for a good while can be a little slippy in the wet

  • Get ones that don't pop

    LOLOLOLOL!
