Which Clipless pedals?

as my first pair, pretty much identical to the road version suggested by mmccarthy but with some tred so you can actually walk in them, i wear them everyday. it depends what you need them for but if you intend on walking more than a few meters in them go for mountainbike shoes

Yeah i'd definitely go for those over the R1, unless you've got look cleats (like myself) or other cleats that aren't SPD.
