Searching eBay for a new tourer, I instead bought this (Raleigh Special Products Division Dyna-tech Low-pro):
What a joke. I feel dirty.

I'm still waiting for parts. It's going to be finished in about a week.
That isn't my issue though. If these bitches keep buying new bikes I'm going to get sucked in and end up building more than the 1 that I planned this year.
Plus Scott now owns one of the most beautiful bikes ever and the cunt won't sell it to me.
He's a bitch. I hate him.*Can you tell I'm a little jealous.
Do you want a hug emzzz ;)

I have a beater again after picking up this £20 frame from the Herne Hill Jumble ... Anybody know anything about Stratton frames?
... There is a Stratton Cycles in Wandsworth, don't know if they ever made their own frames though.
The frame is associated with Stratton Cycles in Wandsworth.
The shop's previous owners had frames made in the 80's
Need to speak with Paul there to get the full history and possible builder.
They also have original decals which is cool as it goes to ArmourTex on Monday.

I'd imagine they got someone like Cliff Shrubb to build for them, he seemed to build for a lot of South London bike shops back in the day.I look forward to seeing it painted and built.

I think you've solved it Andy.
The headbadge is CS which I thought stood for Cycles Stratton.
But it seems to match other Cliff Shrubb frames I've seen on the internet.
Now I just need to research this builder.

He's still making frames I think. He's based in somewhere like Sutton, certainly in south London somewhere.

This is my new project. Carlton road bike. Needs lots of work, looks mega ratty but rides like a dream. 531 tubing, Mafac breaks and break components, Milremo stem. Adding campag rear derailleur thanks to unklesouth, nos Williams 52t cottered crank. Will respray Black, keep decals and turquoise bits. rebuild wheels. going to try and keep everything close to original as possible . I'm not sure of the age. been told it is most likely before Raleigh took them over in the 60's, i would love more info about this bike.

aarrrrrggghhh! i haven't got a f*cking long enough chain in my parts box.
i'm gonna have to wait til tomorrow to ride it now!
i think i might just be able to get away with the size, the TT reach is a bit long, but a shorter stem should cure that.it's not a real Gillot by the way, someone has gone to alot of effort to make it look like one though. the head tube badge is very rare apparently.
TBH, i'm really not bothered about puppy killing, as it's not a real Gillot.
it would be a shame to spoil the beautiful paint job though.i will prob leave as is though, because i won't be keeping it forever.
That back wheel is the bogs dollocks.

recently got a new (almost) matching front wheel, need to either sort out some 650 forks or get a 700 wheel, as the brake obviously doesn't reach! haha. STILL a work in progress, but i have a new job now so that means more money to spend! :)
stickers will be coming off the wheel, but just haven't done it yet! :)
