All the whining and bitching is to be expected, yes the referee could have been better, but how to make them better, you don't see the big clubs putting money into a pot to train referees, get more ex footballers into the game as referees, create a transparent and accountable body which would train/promote/encourage referees and the role they have in the game. No they just slag them off and people start the call for video replays.

How much would video replays slow down the game! Wenger would want one for every decision, ashley cole would always be trying to check himself out...
