  • Emilia - i will check leeds and york for you - normally live in london but am working a contract up here. You sure you want womens large? The sizes are pretty big - am normally men's L but medium fitted. Can drop off in london in next couple of weeks if they have any.

That's awfully kind of you! My brother's already looked in Leeds, but I've a feeling they restock daily (if they're anything like Lidl, where I got my last set of thermals on the second attempt). And maybe I'm a medium then - but I'm sure large would do just as well, if that turns out to be all they have.

Anyway. Don't go out of your way, but I'd be enormously grateful if you found any. :-)

  • coolio, so does this mean if i go to aldi this thursday they will have these things on offer???

please check your local store for details
offers correct at time of copying and pasting link
lifts may go up as well as down

  • if the soft shell jackets are as good as the wool base layers they had a few weeks ago we will be laughing! cheers euro budget retailers.
actually eightball, what do you think of this for a slogan:-
    "quality cheap shit"
was thinking more like for matalan really, but it seems to capture the great double speak that so many adverts use.

  • Yeah those soft shells look alright. Might get on in advance for winter.

  • Cheers for the heads up, Keep an eye on the Lidl site too, they often follow each other... they might have a similar offer set in a few weeks...

  • those merino base layers were ace yeah - gutted as I had only just bought an Icebreaker top for muchos coins only days earlier.....ah well. the soft shell jackets look good def.

Matalan? you mean Tatalan surely?! :P

  • fatalan

  • Scatalan

  • Bump.

    Might be worth a look.

  • Just popped down to aldi's and purhased the ultralight jacket (£12.99) and crane sports glasses (£3.79). First impressions are very positive, although the jackets water protection has yet to be tested. Glasses come with three different lenses, and look half decent. Yet to try them on the bike.

Bought a soft shell jacket when they had their last offers on a few months back, still going strong today, served me well throughout the winter.

  • I'm heading to my local later too...

  • Damn... just spent another 30 quid :p

Did get 2 pairs of socks, some gloves, a softshell and a shirt for my trouble though. Proper bargain, even if it only lasts 12 months then its still cheap. Careful of sizing, it's a bit on the small side, I had to go for XL instead of my normal Large.

  • Hmmmm, should keep 4x4 drivers at bay ;o))

  • anyone had a look at the cycling under shorts?

  • They smelt used.

  • nice! :)

  • They tasted ok though.

  • Got a bike computer and drinks bottle and cage for when I don't fancy taking a bag but I do know I'm going to want a drink.

Was expecting the computer to be dire, but it's pretty good. Amazing for £4.99.

Softshell jacket? Me too, tried one on - luckily as it turns out - they are very much on the racing snake cut side of things...also had to go to XL

Also got some socks and shorts with pad - and some under shorts too - all good for the prices

  • Picked up 3 pairs of the under shorts. Seem pretty good for under £4 each. :)
