But just to help, I'm sure the £199** bike **would be plain-guage steel. It would be a bit heavy, but very strong also. The frames sold by Archie Wiliknson are designed for Speedway, which is a rough and tough sport.
I'm guessing these things, as I am positive that for £199 you can't expect titanium or a carbom frame. It could be Aluminium, true, in which case, it would be relatively light. Either way, for that price, what could go wrong? Best as a back-up bike, or a beater, or a polo bike.
For £300 or less, get over to Edwardes Cycles on Walworth Road. They sell good-excellent condition 2nd fg/ss hand bikes. You could probably get something good for £150-£250 quite easily.
