Random question....do you still have th gear shifters for the 8 spd, and do you wanna sell them?
Unfortunately not, the person I bought it from was looking for an 8 speed gruppo and it worked out cheaper for him to buy the bike than the separate parts...

Seems this is as good a place as any - I'm currently restoring/converting an old heap found in a barn (Really) and have had no luck tracing its pedigree. Anyone ever hear of Haddon cycles? Seems they were a british marque in/around the 70s; I've heard that they might have been associated with Raleigh. I'd be interested if anyone had some insights.

Cool, thanks for that.
It may be a while before I can splash out though.
Apparently there's a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, I'm hoping to get it.
No worries. You're welcome to have a try on mine if you want to wet your appetite just that little bit more... ;^)

Just letting you all know,
Things we do well on this forum, organise and go on a regular basis to Drinks, wherever they may be, and Ride.
So in the spirit of these two elements, comes the all new,
New Members Compass Beer Rides. It has been noted that meeting up with a big group of forumengers that you don't know in a pub can be slightly intimidating. So to make it less so, this idea has been put forward to combine drinks and rides.
Think of it as a Forum Fresher's week, without the hazing, so that the previous months new members get a chance to meet up with, and ride with fellow forumengers. Talk bikes, find out where drinks are, and get a good ride in at the same time
You can come out to the beers closest to you, or trek out to a beers on the otherside of town, safe in the knowledge that you'll be with people who a) know where they are going, and that b) someone will be heading back in your general direction so you can ride home in the company of another forumenger. So For One Week, every couple of months, there will be rides from Trafalgar Sq, to the Beers,
**Monday - Souths @ The Coach and Horses
Tuesday - Norths @ The Flask or
Tuesday - South Easts @ The Kings Arms or
Tuesday - Trixie Dix @ **White's Row Car Park Roof. White's Row, Off Commercial Street
** Wednesday - Easts @ The Royal Inn on the Park
Thursday - Wests @ The Crabtree or The Ship (season dependent)
Sunday - Polo @ Downham Rd Polo Courts.**A couple of regulars from each beers will be at Trafalgar Sq from approx 6.30 for a prompt 7pm departure, (1pm for a 1.30pm departure on Sunday) And will take any new member who so wishes for a ride which will arrive at beers/polo.
The Next Compass Beer Rides will be
May 11-17** 2009**.check out the thread and start putting your names down, Monday's just round the corner..

Had a chance to photograph it finished today for those guys that helped out with bits.
Undecided whether or not to change the colour... it does glitter nicely in the sun though?
Also unsure about the bars and stem, but it is comfy and fun to ride.

recommended pressure 4/6 bars for VITTORIA Randonneur Road 700 x 28, i was wondering do you ride them inflated to 6 or 7 [i know it is ok to inflate it up to 7 1/2]? 6 bars is a bit spongy :{)
