get an 18T or 19T, it will be uber spinny the first few weeks, but you'll get used to it eventually, I run 19 - 48 (soon to change the chainring for a 47 one).
just get a cog that's one teeth bigger, you won't have to worry if the chain isn't long enough/too long.
