Hi guys, i don't know any of you on this thread but i did my first FGSS ride the other week...
The vintage italian jersey ride which the singing pie introduced me to... was a lot of fun...
(We were the dorks on the colnagos and the multi-coloured outfits)
Anyway... we've done the L2B many times over the years and unless you want a medal... which really isn't worth it... then you can just ride up to the start that morning and join in with everyone else...
There really is no point registering and no problem at all to just turn up!
There's four or five of us definitely doing it and it'd be great to hook up with anyone else!

Yes, I did it as a 'ghost-rider' one year - apparently there are thousands of them. The more conscientious make a donation to the BHF when they get home. I planned to and forgot, of course.

did it for last 2 years geared. wouldn't mind trying it fixed.
Ian Mearns: u can do it like i did last year, just skip the official start and tag along to the velo traffic jam out of london 100m down the road. No race numbers needed, but just dont officially finish in brighton as they will give u medals and stuff u didnt pay for. (i made that mistake. had to lie through my teeth to one of the stewards) Prolly best to do the right thing and donate some cash to BHF afterwards. -

Last year I bought a ticket off a girl on Gumtree, and this year a friend of a friend dropped out so I bought their ticket.
There are tickets out there if you look, and are as rubbish as me at getting one in the first place...
The advantage of having a race number is that you can then find the photo's taken of you by the official photogs, and send the nicer photo's to your mum, or other people who like to know you are doing healthy things.
I know you that are able to register in person on the day of the event.
The advantages of registering, apart from raising money for the cause and receiving a BHF medal and T-shirt, are having use of the official emergency breakdown services and medical care.
Although if either were serious enough you'd receive help anyway.
