mirage
xenonbut i dont suppose you will find much difference between mirage and xenon bar the plastic levers on xenon. veloce is about equivalent to 105.

and, yes they will be pretty good.

I'm sure the last two are the wrong way round.

I don't know if they've got black ones, but they have had some Veloce calipers at Condor the last couple of times I've been in there - same price if not slightly cheaper.

Just been reading and I think Mirage is higher than Xenon
-
• #10
i am sure they are not.
on price alone xenon is £199 for a full grouppo.
Mirage is £257 -

on another note. i wont use DHcyclesport on ebay.
i bought a set of 165 sugino cranks from them. not only did they supply 170's but they also sent bolts for a double chain rings. their "sustainable" pakaging (read one sheet of news paper and an old shoe box) meant that the chain set arrived scratched.no contact back from them after i emailed them.

Sold! Bought the Mirage's. Hopefully they will fit this PEUGEOT 'COMPETITION' frame I have just bought.

• #14
hmm, my old (low-end) Pug wouldn't take modern calipers.
-
• #15
Thats what I'm worried about now - I could still fit them to the Raleigh though. Is there any way they could be fitted?
What did you use in the end?
-

I used the (totally shit) Weimmerman (?) standard brake for about 3 months. I only touched them twice in the first 3 weeks so eventually went brakeless.
I've seen a Pug with a modern Tektro brake... so ask around.
-
• #17
Oh er, don't fancy going brakeless yet. Would be nice if I could fit something decent though. Frame should be here this week so I can have a look at it, I think its quite a high end one for its day.

PJ had a nice 531 Pug, and I think he ran a modern brake.
Don't go without unless your 100% comfortable. I just never used the brake at all...

Here it is:
Will be getting it powder coated - not sure on colour yet though!

What?
Why?
...it's got chrome! -

I think its quite tatty, I fancy some carbon forks, paint it in blue.

That looks nice, what bars are those do you think?
-
• #24
Have you sourced 1" threaded carbon forks?

Weinmann. And they are good quality (well certain Types made after the 1970's). I have a pair on my fixed that have are still going after 20 years of use on various bikes.
