What sort of average were you guys doing? Keir claimed 17mph but that seems way too slow. (He didn't really seem to know--I don't think he had a computer, so I don't know where his speed estimates came from.)
he doesnt have a computer
i think we did around 28km per hour average -

Hi Will. Sorry, couldn't remember whether you'd told me your username. Thanks very much for volunteering to backstop and helping with route finding around Chelmsford!

averages - well we were hovering around 13/14 mph from lea valley to high beach after that it must have jumped to 20 for the fast group. felt like 20. my comp said 18mph overall after 100. that's impresive in anyones language
oliver meister - es ist kein meister von himmel gefallen! (forgive spelling) vague intros were made along the way and the lads were perfect gentlemen .
- that lozenger shape roundabout is way before whipps cross which is surely more pastel shaped? ;)

Indeed. I don't think I would have been able to keep up with that all the way (mainly owing to my lack of ability of riding in groups, but also because form is still building--but I was pleased I got up North Hill quite easily).

Ah, then you may mean this one?
Oliver, Meister - es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen!
Tsk, tsk, Gina, you missed out a couple of things ... ;)(NB expressions of the form don't work in German, so that I've interpreted it as an expression like --still unidiomatic but possible.)
I'm sure Keir will be interested in your altitude stat, Gina. I'll pass it on!

I wouldn't have expected you to. You were on top of it all the way and didn't have to bust a gut.

What gear were you riding Tika?
-
• #90
47/19
spinny but i like it. -
• #91
which one were you?
-
• #92
Ah I wasn't there, a personal marathon ride in the morning and laziness for the rest of the day put paid to that. Just interested for any long distance rides in the future :)
-
• #93
i think that it is possible to do do it with a higher gear but i don't want to spoil my knees more than the already are. maybe 70" is better if you are stronger than me

what was you gear momo
I was on 48/20 or 64.8 gear inches. This was pretty much OK, bit spinny at times, might try 48/19 ...

Dear oh dear, you didn't even make introductions? Bike rider stereotypes in full effect. And in case of protest that you were riding too hard, there was a cafe stop ... ;)
That'll be the Whipps Cross roundabout, then.
