Aero lids don't protect your head though... not really designed for it... the giveaway is in the name... aero...

its not one of those plastic head cover jobs, its a foam helmet with a spike out the back, for road time trials, plenty of protection in it. Road lids all look like they belong to one of the X-Men, still i suppose its better to wear one on your bike than in a wheel chair.
Whats this NJS wars malarkey?

People who ride track bikes with NO brakes who DON'T wear aero lids are stupid.
Peace

You said it Stevie.
That "zen like experience" you think you're enjoying is ruined by floppy locks or a bulky road helmet.
Everyone knows helmets reduce accidents much more than helmets and everyone knows that if you're riding a track frame, intended and spec'd for track use you should also use a track helmet.

(+1 on helmet wearing, btw. I've crashed enough times to appreciate them. Or maybe it's time to learn to ride my bike...)

NJS frame on the way, NJS hubs, spokes, cranks, chain, pedals, straps, toeclips, seatpost, stem, bars, grips and a clamp on Keirin brake to follow ;) Everything except rims basically, can't get NJS clinchers so I'm getting Araya Gold Clinchers instead of the NJS tubular variety ;) Not sure about saddle yet, pressie for the missus :)

Disclaimer: I'm not building this because NJS is hipster goodness but because they're all the parts which fit the aesthetic I intend for this bike and I want all new parts so I may awell just get the NJS versions if I'm buying new...

no bullshit: I got knocked off my bicycle yesterday, (awwww), some guy driving up against the back off a lorry turned right across me, but if i'd been wearing an aero lid i'd have been at least 2% further up the road and the whole thing could have been avoided, I'm buying one today.
That sad news is theres one less set of Nitto B123 bars in dublin now, guess im losing njs points.
-
• #142
Lol, we should actually start an NJS game where different parts get you more points based on their impracticality in Dublin and extortionate cost :) Right now I'm on zero but it'll rocket soon (well the missus' points will)
Did you get the guys details? Sounds like he was in the wrong, witnesses?? Make that bitch pay up!!

I went for him lock in hand cos it took him a while to stop, but he was more shock up than me, got name, address, reg, numbers all that stuff. He rang me later for the bill and I'm meeting him tonight to pick up the cash. looks like im getting a new frame, bars, and specs. NJS you say... Is there any 6'2" kierin riders?
-
• #144
oh and an aero lid
-
• #145
Not cheap mate and big frames are hard enough to find which makes them more expensive but if the guy will pay for it I'd push it, what was the frame he fucked on you?
-
• #146
i guess im stupid so
Choosing to ride breakless is retarded
Your retarded too aparently.....

i'm familiar with NJS frame rape crisis. This is where i go to perve over Japanese steel.
It was a alan shorter track frame, number 62 from 1978, well it still is only now its got a creased downtube and a fractured top head lug. I did impulsively buy an early 80s chrome Gazelle Champion Mondial last week from Paris so its just like i sold the old one for a very good price.
