but i can!?
i HAVE this chainlock thing, often called master link or magic link.by the way: short rear end is good for wheelies and spins. so why use a long rear end ;)
do we need a chainlock thread?

Yes, so many people find themselves teleported into moving vehicles with occupants they want to get away from. I think what you meant was that if she was insane enough to get into a stationary car with me, it shouldn't be surprising that she was also insane enough to try to jump out of it at speed. If you're going to make gratuitously offensive remarks about attempted suicides, at least try to be logical.
and making random posts about attempted suicides on cycling forum is logical?!?!
WTF??i would probably try and jump out the window too, if i meant getting away from you!

Cheers! My boyfriend designed it, he's looking at printing more if your interested.
i love the t-shirt too. if he is printing i want one.

all i want to do is put some plush clean silver drops on that and then it'd be so, so perfect.
I did run it bare for a bit (with the nitto cow horns), but I commute quite a few miles daily and running in winter without a brake and with bare bars was cack. Hence dodgy bar tape and hiding the cables under it. As before in this thread - the tape matches my gloves...I AM A TART!
She is for sale at the moment.....

Very perty steed. Apart from the tape. Seriously wtf is up with that dude?
Yeah - what I had left in the shed. Matches my gloves though....May change it for White Cinelli or suggestions....not going bare though, fecking awful in winter!

• #7157
sorry :D
here ya go:
you pushing this out of blb on sat afternoon having a conversation with your friend about how you could fit it in the back of your car right? seriously get some clips on that. more money than sense
-
• #7158
more money than sense
bit harsh. more of a noob fail perhaps?
-
• #7159
I guess I was being a bit harsh. just don't get why anyone would ever think it was a good idea to ride fixed / brakeless with no clips.
-
• #7160
it's ignorance plain and simple.. which simply = noob fail
-
• #7161

thats interesting, I put tape for the summer as my hands start to sweat and slip off from the bars, but in winter they stay nice and dry (not even that cold as I have alu- bars).

I am actually going to get a brake, there's no way I have the confidence to road ride that for any extended period w/out one, but I wanted to try it brakeless first. Plus it looks nicer like this.
Put a brake on before you kill yourself and/or someone else, for the record I do ride brakeless, however I rode brakeless bmx for 7-8 years beforehand, which is arguably more dangeours/stupid, and only ever had one crash on the roads in that time which was down to me being stupid enough to ride on a section of pavement that I shouldn't have been on.
I knew exactly what I was getting into riding brakeless fixed, not to mention I had ridden friends fixed bikes before and could do the mandatory skip stop/skid stop crap to keep the bike under control, if you can't or you have even the slightest doubt that you can't do it well enough, you should not even be considering going brakeless, because there is a high probablity you will fuck yourself up, but much worse hurt someone else thanks to your own stupidity. -

yes...were you the ultimate hipster w/ the blue and pink fixie or someone else? It has clips! You can see them w/ the leather coverings. So are you talking about straps?
-
• #7164
Just to add to the above posts, either buy a brake, clips/straps or clipless pedals and shoes Henvy before you turn into road pizza
-
• #7165
^ pic where you can see the clips better. I'm slightly confused because everyone is saying get clips...do those not count?
-
• #7166
I find my fingernail, or (HTFU) a pair of pliers works better:
http://bicycletutor.com/quick-release-chain-link/I don't actually have pliers.. in fact.. I don't even have a flat head screwdriver in this country. WTF?! No doubt the kitchen knives came in handy last time I had to unclip something.. ;)

NO, they will not hold your feet in when you try and stop = you becoming road pizza.
For the love of jeebuzz fit a brake and get some straps. -

that saddle has got a way to go, way too low.
-
• #7173
it's been mentioned.
-
• #7174
I'm sure it was.. going downhill against pro riders that can coast and without sufficient foot retention or a brake
-
• #7175
@ HenVy - you're LSE staff?? (facebook stalk). What do you do? I studied there a few years back
with respect, it's a bit of an silly idea to shorten the wheel as close as possible to the frame, yet can't change tyres or tube when needed.
