having done this ride last year:
We rode, up until we crossed the Thames using the Greenwich Foot Tunnels, on roads that hadn't been closed.
Nevertheless there were few cars. This was not as awesome as the ride thereafter, which was amazing.
If even half the people turn up, you are going to have issues.
The police were nice to us, but the response we got at the end of the ride is indicative of what I think you are going to get the whole way round-
i.e. piss off.
It was an amazing ride, and if you all want to do it, don't meet up and go for separate start times, have feeder points from the corners of London, and start at a random place and end at a common place.
Thus it won't look like an en masse invasion of the course.
