I know, I've read the horror stories of flanges being ripped to bits and so forth, however with high flange hubs there is enough metal between the holes that it's not that much of a risk IMO. He also said 3x was stronger which isn't strictly true for front wheels, Sheldon goes into loads of detail about it.
