Lame or Lovely, which one is it? Make your mind up sonny
I was trying to be sarcastic. I failed? Anyway, I spent 100 quid so I don't think they should be that unhappy to have my custom. Basically I just felt he was trying to mislead me about the chain - I said I was considering buying a breaker and he said it would be cheaper to have it done there, then said it would cost 35 quid. Maybe he didn't understand right and thought I wanted to buy a chain too (but I did clearly say I had one). Even then, it sounds a bit steep.
I also thought the guy was quite rude to the other customer who wanted help with the bars. Whatever, it's really not that interesting, probably not even worth starting a thread over, I was just a bit pissed off.
In retrospect saying "I have a Master's in Engineering" also makes me sound like a twat, but hey I knew what I wanted, so I don't expect them to try and not sell it to me or make out I don't know what I'm doing.
At least we now have a map of the hipster spice route, so some good came out of the initial vitriol.
