you can get a black miche crankset from Condor, it's a Condor branded one that's quite light and completely black (without the big Miche Advance logo too, including the crank arm too unlike the colour in picture), cost £100 I think.
Any ideas (apart from Suginos) for black cranks? I'm going to go look for new forks now, oh joy!

You, sir, are a lovely person!
Also @ Donut!
I would do, but my parents bought me that Brooks and if they thought I wasn't sitting on it they would die. -

Needs a nice polished seatpost!
campagnolo c-record, sorted! (look very italian too).
BLB have quite a handful of them in the back, some look worse for wear but not hard to make it new again (Tour De Ville as well have some nice seatpost too).

There's a Campagnolo fluted Super Record in there. Just needs a rub down and polish.

perfect colour on your bob jackson.
Just added the brake from my broken Rourkie as I've had a couple of scary incidents following both my girlfriend and my housemate, who both ride erratically. I still haven't used it though and will probably take it off again.
This is my finished 'proper' bike. I say 'proper' because my Brian Rourke is like a child's toy.
Wifey's Caprice in the background, as rebuilt and restored by moi.

I don't want to be a smartarse here but maybe you should stop spending money and buy a frame that fits you?? If you need your saddle to be that far forward it's probably too big for you?? Then again a super short stem might solve it but if you really are worried about the aesthetics I'd try and get my saddle back into a more presentable position first and foremost...

I think the bull horns exagerate the stem length quite a bit.
Personally I'd say that seat position should be decided relative to the pedals though, so this might be irrelavent ;)

It just seems to me to be particularily far forward... I know a smaller angle between saddle and pedals means more efficient power transfer but if you want it that far forward then buy a frame with more aggresive track oriented geometry... the Plug isn't going to be that aggresive as it's a street specific "track"/ fixed gear bike... Just doesn't look right...

Ed, you know I fucking love that bike. Silver and black are THE BEST. I might just throw the Miche on and then buy new cranks/chainring. That'd be alright. I really want new forks, that'd be illin'. Any ideas (apart from Suginos) for black cranks? I'm going to go look for new forks now, oh joy!
I have been there so many times. A low point was eating slices of cheese with marmite on it, as that was all I had. For like 3 days. Bleak, but I'd prefer to have spent it on bike bling and physical stuff than on booze.

Quick project question:
Is there an inexpensive way of converting quick release wheel bolts to allen key wheel bolts?
Thanks

you're not going to use that mavic io on the road?!
-
• #7945
Nah, he's gonna use it as a Frisbee! :)
-
• #7946
Yeah, this way I can cycle to ultimate frisbee and then break out the iO ;) lol
By the way... I didn't actually get one, read the edit :)
If I win the lotto I will though, one on T'bay at the moment for $1,900... Think I'll hold back for Corima instead ;)

cheers,
Seen the axelroserods. Any way to modify the current quick releases? New axels are over half the price I paid for the bike....

Chop off the levers/ find a bolt and nut that fits in it? Bit sketchy but it'd do it?

FSA carbon isn't designed to run fixed, only SS. I know, I have one on the pub bike.
You sure? Sounds a bit dodgy making track cranks that are only designed for SS.
What about the Vigorelli Track Cranks? Surely they are proper track cranks and designed for fixie gear no brakey ride around in circley?
