• awesome day peeps. was lovely to meet lots of new friendly faces. mad props to scott & gina & phil for all the organising. think it could be the start of a wonderful new tradition, although next time i am pushing for the compulsory bunny ears/tails.

hey velocio- that was me in the jacket. yes, it is cycling-specific- a danish brand: http://www.danefae.dk/

i brought it from black truffle in broadway market - i had drooled over it for months but couldn't justify the price- but they had been marked down to half recently and after sitting through too many footy matches with soaking jeans and subsequent numb legs i had to get it.

(on the site they are the full price; at the broadway store the purple/blue one is half-price = £63 for the large and xtra large.)

I got a large one and while it is voluminous, it fits easily over whatever i have on underneath, so it works for me. (the red ones are still over a hundred quid...)

my short review of it so far: material is certainly waterproof, despite being all cotton and PVC-free. (thumbs-up to no VOC's). the seams are all sealed really well internally. the zip at the front can be undone from the bottom so your legs are covered while you cycle. (this was the clincher for me) the pockets fit an a-z perfectly and have velcro closures so nothing will fall out. there are internal cuffs so the wind won't blow up your sleeves. the material is quite thin so it folds down pretty well.

gotta love those danes and their dedication to practical cycling fashion. i give it a nine out of ten. (one point off because the slipperiness of the fabric means the belt doesn't stay tied very well. and there are no adjustable ventilation bits on the back/under the arms)
