2009-04-09 - Rider Down/Fatality, Goswell Rd and Clerkenwell/Old St

entire intersection blocked off, about 10 police cars and coupel of ambulances and many onlookers, looks like a bike got caught under a cement mixer turning left of old street onto goswell, the bike was a crumpled scraped mess. hope the rider got out of it ok...

Fuck, that is the hipster highway. Hope the rider is ok.

oh shit not again, My heart just skipped reading this, especially as I know that area from photographing ghost bikes there. I hope the rider is OK and also my thoughts go out to the lorry driver who will obviously be traumatized as no lorry driver means to do this.

the intersection at goswell st is big and chaotic, and there's been lots of road works lately.

My sis works near there and has been telling me about the incident this morning. She says:

"I was there this morning just after it happened, the guy was pulled out on a stretcher, still being resusciated. Not sure if he made it, looked very serious. My thoughts go out to the cyclist and the truck driver"

just heard from my courier that the cyclist was under the back wheel when she passed - i wish it was otherwise but i fear this may not end well...
