    If someone has something to sell, let them.
    If someone is buying, it is up to them to be aware and they should click through and look at the profile of the seller (making this easier is suggested above and probably makes sense).

    Note, if you are a specialied seller it therefore probably makes sense to detail on your personal page your commercial interests, what you sell and where else your products might be available

    On successful sales, it always helps to know (in the first post) if it has been sold (someone above already said that)

    I think the last thing any of the forum members want is to adjudicate on a sale gone-wrong or be involved in a "feedback loop". Go and dick around on e-bay if you want that.

    If the forum where to see a % of each sale or a posting-fee (£1?) for each seller then that might be an idea that might benefit the forum and force the sellers to consider what they are posting and what makes a good classified.

    Having a "classifieds" moderator might provide standards but getting into the "publisher" territory surely changes the ethos (if we have one!) and the purpose of the forum and personally an area I consider that is best for the forum to avoid
