  • I'm trying hard to work out how to fit this ride in.
I have to catch a train to Taunton at some point that day.

South West trains from Paddington? Are you taking a bike down? I'm having a similar dilemma trying to figure out how to get to Exeter.

(edit: and fit in the ride, so I'm not totally de-rail(way)ing the thread)

  • well I'm CRB checked, in fact I have a framed certificate saying "this man is allowed to be in the presence of children for the period 2008-2009"..

joking aside, it may still be a deal where we just drop off some eggs to the nurses though... I imagine an Alan Partridge-like charity visit but it's probably not allowed for randoms.

coming back to the ringing round - can we start by a pool of resources on children's homes / hopsitals with childrens wards we know in London? Just till the end of today, then if noone posts anything at all on here I'll start ringing round tomorrow. Maybe jayloo and I could co-ordinate the ring-round?

in terms of chocolate - fair point about the gooey stuff Scott. Saying that I've only got my dj bag and probably fit 15 in at the most? a try-out down tesco is required!

  • Alright, I've put a list of homes together, 37 all over london is all I could find.
will do hospitals in a bit...
PM me if you want to call them and I can send you a list.

  • might as well make a start on it... yes please

scott you fancy hooking up somewhere this afternoon to go through the ones to visit?

    FGW FTW!

sorry that had to be done.
But yes indeed, bike will be coming down with me, and I might ride over to my grandparents house from Taunton (they live in a tiny village in Devon), depending on the time of arrival....
Exeter St. Davids and Taunton are on the same line, and as long as you book early it doesn't look too bad.

  • The man from Cadbury...he say NO!

I was hoping they'd maybe donate some eggs, but looks like we're on our own :(

@ Phil....could meet at easties pub before my slam to wests continues...gonna have to be about 5:30 if that's ok with you?

I'm not coming unless I get a photo of me kissing a baby!

(in a charm offensive, not in a just plain offensive way)

  • I'll bring a baby with me and you can just kiss it outside each place we stop :)

sounds good dude.. if that's cool then let's say yes now, have to step away from the forum this afternoon...

  • Deal.

    Creepy....

  • 5:30 easties...i'll be the one holding the baby!

  • I can't make today. I was meaning the ride itself.

btw - These are on the Angel fancy dress (shaftesbury ave) site...
    http://www.fancydress.com/costumes/Bunny-Ear-Set/0~499667~0

I'll go check see if they have any in store.

  • I know...i was talking to phil :)

  • do they not do MALE bunny ears? :)

  • And to the TWO people who have donated so far (you know who you are)...they're very generous donations...much appreciated!

  • Right I'll be there.

@ tricity- my train was the 17:06 from Paddington.
And my total crazy journey is around £50, including from Oxford to Paddington the day beforehand to watch the Good Friday thingy, then the journey above, and then Taunton back to Oxford on the Monday.
All in the Quiet Zone, so i can be near the bike bit.

  • Unfortunately I've gotta work 10-2 so I guess I'm out. Unless it's after 2?

However if you want to borrow my large front rack for transportation of eggs you are welcome to it.

  • 'Large front rack'?

I think we're back on the glossy photos thread again. Oi Oi!

    Have a word Phil. ;)

  • Have a word Phil. ;)

    Ha!

  • they have bunny ears for 2 quid in sainsburys. they are also doing a deal on buttons eggs (among others) but my brain has melted and i can't for the life of me remember how much it actually was! fool.

EDIT: found it, they are 2 for £2.

  • talking of things melting... a day like this plus hot sweaty backs on chocolate =?

  • might be alright, what with boxes & such? mabe some strategically placed ice packs or something?

  • I'm borrowing that rack off Photoben, so we can stack that up. If somebody has a cool bag/box that may be useful?

  • according to tesco website buttons eggs are 2 for £1 unless i read it wrong...which is highly possible :)
donations are pretty slim though right now :(
i said DONATIONS ARE PRETTY SLIM!
    ;)

  • Hello, I will be arround to help out and deliver eggs. Great idea scott. Come on people. Help out.
