I was going to recommend into the wild..

Instead I'll recommend The Royal Tenenbaums, I Heart Huckabees and if for some odd reason you and the young lady fancy a really beautifully made ridiculously long war film: The Thin Red Line.

To be fair, it was about a ridiculously long war.
