Look at it this way - I haven't resorted to anything emotive, nor have I resorted to mudslinging. I've put forward my point of view in a rational way and expect the same in return - but no - what I get back is "Hey, look at this guy - he started a thread about chainlines - what a dork!"

It's a certain type of arrogance comes with a suggestion that you have no need to justify your actions - more people than me are noticeably concerned about the message this thread sends out - yet you choose not to either allay those concerns or accept that what you've done has the potential to offend.

And I find that perhaps more worrying than the pictures themselves.

I stated previously your choice of avatar is very apt. Thanks for proving my point again, the post you intentionally misquote above wasn't aimed at you. READ the thread! It is not arrogance that I feel no need to justify my 'actions' (You mean my words right?) It is because I have tried not to become embroiled in this argument and that I have not sided and instead have listened and tried to learn.
