Can't do it on the 29th, friends emigrating to australia, and thats their leaving do...
But in for this when the next one rolls round.

I hear you corny. After so long off the bike I will need to learn to love the hills again.

I think this will be the last one. Then they are shutting all the roads and adding speed bumps every meter or so. ;)

how long roughly did the ride take (not including warm down in The Flask)?

I'm keen as mustard to make the next one on 29th, just need to work out timings so I can move other stuff around that day.

I was wheeling the bikes outside as I do every morning at about 8.40. Chamberlaines, Kentish Town Road. Perhaps I should have shouted "do a skid"

We made it to the Flask at 6pm as planned - Drinking time depends on how much you can drink

so you work in Chamberlaine cycles? that's my local. will bear it in mind next time I need something doing that's beyond my abilities as a ham-fisted tinkerer ... or next time I try to do a tricky job and need someone to fix the mess

Hope the weather is ok Sunday..

cannot promise these scenes but some of the surfaces in barnet are really (rather surprisingly)nice.
also the weather looks sunny for sunday (sleet on saturday)..

High Barnet. The highest point between London and York. And look at those views.

Might be up for this if I can get a pass for the afternoon - the start looks a bit harsh though, big hill up from archway straight out of the blocks - hmmm.........

Archway Road? I hope we go up Highgate Hill for starters. Though if it is raining I won't be going anywhere!

I can't make it this week, I'm going to a birthday party on an island in essex that gets cut off at high tide. Should be fun....

I'd recommend the ride though, it's a stormer.

I think the ride is backwards. The first hill is up to Ally Pally.

Archway road and then through he back streets to the Ally Pally hill (which is a bastard). Then onwards to world's end. Joy.

Since I am not coming this week, someone else will have to perform the comical crash.
