Im not liking where this is going..
Looks like i might end up with a chunk of ass missing.
I managed to out run a dog once, and I never want to try it again.
I was coming up a hill, it was coming across, broke out of the bushes barking, growling and coming straight at me, so i knew what was up right quick. I got out of the saddle and hammered it, the dog over shot and had to turn up hill after me, I made a sharp left (the only way out of the neighborhood, and away from fields which the road wound around and the dog could cut me off). The thing was right on my heals, I looked down and saw its head about halfway past my rear wheel, looked up and saw an on-coming van, cut in front of it, and went around on the far side, I head its brakes squeel, I don't know if it hit the dog, I took off down the hill on a busy road, and then down another hill on an even bigger road.
If it had not been for the van, i would have never made it to the top of the hill or the big road. I don't know what would have happened if the dog caught me, but it was in rual colorado in the middle of the day, so no help was going to turn up. I never want to run form a dog on my bike ever again.
I have no idea what kind of dog it was, it was tall and skiny with ribs, fnags and drool, i think it was tan.
I know I'm not the fastest guy out there but I doubt that you would have a good chance of escaping a large dog, espicaly on open ground.
