On a more serious, playground conversation with a parent outside my 4 year old daughters school today.
Mum - K is very upset as N (my daughter) has started to play with another little girl.
Me - They're only 4, I'm sure its just a kiddie thing.
Mum - No, shes different
Me - Different, how?
Mum - Shes one of them
Me - One of what?
Mum - Points to girls dad.
Me - I fail to see any difference
Mum - But he's a Paki
Me - Fuck your dumb, I would be very pleased if you would ask K not to tell any of this shit to N, and if she does then I'm affraid I shall have to take it to the school authorities.
The family are in fact of Indian decent and were born and bread on the IoM. I have spoken to my daughters teacher and she will be speaking to K's parents.
I am now left with the problem of trying to explain to a 4 yr old why she can't go to her friends house to play?
The really sad fact is that the girl in question is never invited to the little parties etc. I'm getting the feeling that K's parents aren't the only ones who have this view. Bunch of twats.
It will be interesting to see how the school handles it.
