I don't begrudge her taking the OK shilling. I think that's the least that she and her kids deserve for what she's been through in the media.
I guess I think there should have been a point where she said - OK that's enough. But possibly she didn't have the support from friends and family to do that...to step away. The way I see it (and what I meant above) is that her apparent lack of self-esteem made her value being in the press as being popular / famous / a celebrity - an end in itself if you like, rather than a means to provide for her children.
It's just how it looked to me.
