On a ride with lots of people, fast is much slower than normal. Did anyone act as ride leader given that the ride came together somewhat accidentally because of Bike Destroyer's question? If not, it seems that this highlights that someone should keep the pace lower. Not glacial, but just slow enough to respect the dynamics of a larger group which can easily get split.
