  • I had one of those for the Bowlie funding thing. Pain in the arse it was... I had to update a local database every time a donation came in. It meant that it was nearly always slightly out of date, and that I was spending tons of time updating it.

    The target was the CDN costs... £180-ish (or whatever that dollar amount I said earlier was). But any extra just goes into the paypal account and sits there covering server fees each month.

    So there's no top to the fund raising thermometer, as any extras just support the usual costs. Today was about doing something to pay for this exceptional one-off cost, but if there is extra then it reduces pressure to panic about the reserves in the paypal and adsense revenues (which are still declining, have been since last September when the crunch happened).

    v true, but a little extra in the LFGSS pot means you can start funding ventures like the T-shirts as you have some capital to lay out that is not your own.
