  • Could someone bring a 10mm spanner down tomorrow? I wanna roll on the Mercian but need to get the brake off, my flatmate's made off with his tool box, the cheeky fecker...

  • don't drink in any Smarden pubs. they hate the jumpers down from Laahndaan

  • Good fun today even tho' the Mercian didn't feel quite right, shallower drops and shorter stem are probably the way forward... Probably won't make much difference to my miserable performance... Steve and Stelle were magnificent! Goes to show what can be achieved over the winter if you put the hours in! Great to snaffle up a Campag crankset and cog for polo too!! £15!! 39:21 FTW!

  • Thanks to everybody for the kind words of encouragement and especially La Pata Negra for the coaching advice (lulz) and cheerleading.
Wicked forumenger turnout just to spectate a training sesh!

  • yeah was wicked morning out, will try and finish a race next time but i think going in the fast group was overly optimistic.

see you same time next week.

  • will be on the track next week, and hopefully, on me own bike, if not, a loaner will have to do...

good forum turnout, lets keep the bods coming next week.

seems tessa jowell was down at the start getting her photo taken as she was held on a stationary bike. So hopefully with sir hoy speaking out on behalf of herne hill, things might be moving forwards on the lease/renovation front...

great weather today by the way, if just a bit windy.

just to second the magnificence of stelle and steve, good turn of pace there people..

can't wait to limp round in the slow group..

  • Great looking bike Clive!

I hope to be there next week.

Spent all day stretching and gluing on tires which was a real pain.

  • Tony Doyle there too, real track cycling royalty...

  • Whoa! Medium-gear TT hero, too :)

  • wikipedia is your friend!...yeah taht TT time is unreal..

completely forgets to mention his amazing number of six-day wins....

  • I don't need Wiki.

Doubt he did it with tribars - Zak definitely used them for his short 53!!!

  • on the same gear ratio?

  • Oh yes - mental, isn't it.

  • tao wasn't on track, got there a bit too late and couldn't be arsed with trying to sort out a loaner as everyone was moving away for the first round of warm up laps. Was being leery and loud from the sidelines though...

  • winston thanks for you help today
it was good fun, i am aching all over. i hope to get better

  • was good today, nice and social

  • Oh yes - mental, isn't it.

    A target for Caspar?

  • I need a track bike.

  • Sounds like it was a great day. Any idea how many of us will be at Newport tomorrow Rob? I am bringing my mate Simon, who bought Guys old frame off him. Should be fun

  • Which one was Tony Doyle?

Very fun session. Lovely sunshine at times, a good forum turnout, and some really good fun, exciting racing. All the haterz moaning about it being 'too busy' should be grateful that people are turning up to use the facility and it isn't at risk of closing down next week!
