Different colour for different mood??

I have decided my innov bag was shit. It got a whole in it on the first day of use.
Fortunately, however, I got a full refund.
And am now looking at courier bags... but nothing makes any sense...and I really don't wanna risk wasting more money/time again.

I thought you were all about the running bags?
What doesn't make sense? Go to post #1 of this thread and find one of them you can afford, buy it. Job done.

I am just not convinced they are comfy/practical.
You can get decent panniers that are easy to take off the bike, which seems to be the only criticism they sometimes face (ie, annoying to take off the bike quickly).
These Arkel ones look excellent:

Paul you idiot, you absolute idiot.

First you tell everyone that Courier bags are gay, then that running bags make much more sense for cycling.......
now you think panniers might be the ticket.Paul-Michel, you are a marvel. My tip, is get round to Comptons Cycles, and try out some of their bags. When I went in there and had a nose around, I took photos of the shop, but also posted that there were bags in there that might well suit you (though I de-personalised that comment). Its close to where you live, and they're friendly and professional.

But you guys positively encourage me to act like a twat. I now find it incapable of not acting like the assumption of the imbecile you think I am. Its like when an innocnt man on death row, after so long, starts to genuinly believe he commited the crime.
Thanks however. I will check that shop out.
I also intend to visit here, which looks good:

I'm thinking "Howard Stern", but definitely not "Jock Stern".
Hi-Ten, not 531.

you have four pages worth of answer about what to get for commuting with your bike, a lots of them have excellent suggestion and explaination, yet you went against all of their tips and advice and went for a completely different bags (if that's the one you're talking about) that hasn't even been mentioned in that topic, and only suitable if you were to carry gym clothes so you'd look like you're going to the gym so yes, you do appear like a twat.

Lolz.
I already admitted I was wrong. :) And now I am moving over to the light...

If you just want a quick and simple advice, my suggestion is to go for a Chrome bags, in whichever size you think is suitable, the price you pay for will last you for quite a long time.

• #367
Yep, they have them in Condor Cycles for you to try out.

Paul-Michel, if you have a fixed budget, or a design purpose, then peruse the list of bags created for YOU completely free of charge, and find shops that sell the ones you like the spec and look of. Comptons have Crumpler, and since they are also designed to carry laptops (or originally, cameras), then the padding is good. The straps won't break on you either.
Crumpler is good. For harder wearing, Chrome "might" be better. But you do have a lot of choice. If your bike is needing repair or somesuch, why not get you skates on?

C'mon wibble, don't you chuckle at Ed expressing exasperation? He does it so well. Lol!
TBH, I think Paul-Michel knows just what buttons to press. He's rather good at it.

oh my good god paul...are you STILL deciding? :)
I told you i'd lend you a bag to try out...if you then decide you still think messenger bags are gay you can try panniers...if you decide you could get on with a messenger bag then you can go find one that suits your budget.
life really doesn't get ANY easier than that! :) -

Just had a look at the Chrome site - they have some select colours of the Kremlin (their largest) on sale at $99 (down from $180). Works out to about 70GN before shipping.

On another note, I met scott not scot recently, and finally had the chance to examine his work. I also checked out Hillbilly's Grobag. This is what I found:
Scott's work is high quality. The stitching is very strong, and his inner lining is practically any colour you wish.
Hillbilly's Grobag was pretty big, and I'd say as big as my XL Timbuk2, but apparently there are 2 sizes bigger!
Scott, if you can, why not post in this thread, the photo of the contents of Hillbilly's bag?
