dale let it go!
the mans made his case, you've made yours, agree to disagree and move on.
Unless Marty is like your brother who saved your life in 'nam, you've done the friend duty and protected his good name and such now be quiet and go and ride the geekhouse, before you sell it on...i don't like hearing a very good hard working small time frame builder getting lies told about him. he will be visiting london in summer and is the nicest guy out there. 100% no bullshit.

Chain. Tug.

Nicer than Skully tugging his chain?

To be honest, this is a disgrace.
"have taken it to a bike shop to check if the wheel is still rideable", I'd be interested to know which bike shop & what exactly they had to say. I'd be riddled with guilt if i sold a defective product to someone and they suffered harm because of my small monetary gain.

^^^ Thats not a small chip.
Sadly some poor chump will pay for this, but if raleigh felt it safe surly he would have kepted the wheel instead of hawking it on to fund buying a new one.
Emailed him asking to remove the tape so i can see the chip.
"hi, i can get you a close up picture of the chip but i wont remove the tape as i got it taped at the bike shop and i dont wish to go back and get it taped up again. th size of the chip is approx 1cm x 3cm.
Because the thing will fall apart when you take the tape off?it's special electrical tape i bet ;)

dale your more than welcome to spend time in the welcoming arms of the trinity, if you liked it that much you can forgo the friendship of the rest of the south beers crew and sit there, wondering what happened to the burger deal they never had, anyway we'll be going back there on the 30th.
Chaintug, I'm all over, still want, just been a bit busy with work, will pm you shortly

i asked the seller if he and the shop would accept liability if harm came to anybody using this wheel and he/she said
hi, i do not accept liability nor does the cycle shop. i am not an expert on damages so i do not have any opinions on the damage. all i have stated on the listing is the opinion of one of the mechanics at the bike shop. i suggest that if this was to be used in a commercial venture you should buy a non-dmaged one. i would say buyer assumes responsibility of item.
thank you.

he aint no fool,
i think he wisely chose not to display that question and answer. i think that if you sent him a question reading something along the lines of " wow nice wheel mate , is it definitely a brilliant white or is it more of a creamy white?" he would display the answer. maybe give it a try :-) -
