  • So, what's the quota?

  • tom, mirko, didnt realise you guys were going towards lower richmond rd. anyway, good ride. bit nervy riding in the dark, but glad went out anyway. ill buy a proper set of lights one day

  • thanks guys, good ride glad i went. back in the office now, hope will be done in 1h

  • great ride! really pushed myself on the last lap, still could not catch you guys :(

for anyone reading who has not rode RP at night its awesome.

Chop - I now know why you come out here for the full moon. We had perfect weather, no wind, defo doing this again.

    back in work!?! nightmare.

  • only to discover that hipsters don't do rain. Camilla was very disappointed.

yes, but at least her honour remained unsullied

  • sorry to abandon you to the wilds of putney desi! nice ride, perfect weather and good company. next week I'll get the blinking light fixed up and a little bit more reliable, though the moon was almost good enough to see by.

am likely to be back next week, on Monday evening

Desi lives in putney so I think he can cope!

yes, i think i'm going to bite the bullet and get a proper hope vision 1 light, moon was good, but not enugh to illuminate deer or joggers.

won't be around monday Tom, I have footy, enjoy.

  • I got there at 10pm and did 2 x 20min overgeared laps. It was cold towards the NE corner at the bottom of Test Hill to Roehampton Gate; and misty; and that's where the deer were.

The Hope on medium and the helmet torch on low would've been enough, but I treated myself to high beams all round, and enjoyed 'cross beaming' on the S bends in the mist :)

I was a bit nervous about being attacked by wererabbits in the full moon, but there was a police/security vehicle patrolling... though that wouldn't rule out werepigs :S

  • What gates are open after dusk?

  • I used Richmond and Roehampton gates.

  • What gates are open after dusk?

All the main big (vehicle) gates close at dusk, but all gates have pedestrian gates at the side of these that are open 24 hours (unless the cull is going on). They don't look that obvious, more than once I've found someone "trapped" inside who wasn't able to work out where the pedestrian gates were.

    that is a FAIL...

  • Is it a full moon tonight?
As soon as I left work, there were maniacs everywhere. Pedestrians flinging themselves in front of me. Cyclists jumping reds straight into traffic all over the shop.

Must be a full moon I thought to myself. Best be extra cautious

Jolly good. I am in a really foul mood and will be leaving work in an hour or so and have to ride across London to drop something off in Lambeth before going home.

    Other road users should beware.

    City -> Lambeth -> Islington

    You have been warned!

  • Its a new moon apparently

Must be the same effect. I found it weird out there tonight

  • I'm just in a foul mood. Moon or no moon.

  • I'm still at work. Leaving soon.. Bring the pain!!!

  • Anyone fancy a spin tomorrow morning? The park will be chocka, but I'm feeling sociable and I wrecked my legs yesterday so could do with a polite couple of laps and a coffee.

    • Mike those dates are c*cked up, flip the New and Full over - a 'new' moon is the point it begins to get bigger after a going through a cycle.
  • Chop - Most people will be at Herne Hill tomorrow.

  • Yeah, well I'm not 'most people', and that's the way I fucking like it.

  • "Chop - Most people will be at Herne Hill tomorrow."

    Speak for yourself trackie bitch.

I'm going to try and get the S-Works out and about on Saturday since I'll be using it for a TT on Sunday and haven't ridden it for 6 months.

  • Deeeeerrrrrrr

Most people who attended the sessions* this thread is dedicated to are going to be at Herne Hill.

Are you going to go to RP, well are ya? huh.... huh?

    • not hippy or BMMF
  • I am most people, and I also intent do be at HH tomorrow. Providing this annoying cold thing I have goes away

  • ha ha, great responses people,

Herne Hill - I think I'll go for a few laps of the park and drop in on my way back to say howdo.

Hippy, are you going on the Tour of Flanders?
