  • Let us know when you're next planning on going. I know 2-3 more people who would be interested!

  • Hello boys.

I'm registering myself on this page now.

The other week I went into John Antony as I used to work there breifly after uni to say Hi and they couldn't understand what my bike was all about. I tried to explain, but no love. That led me to assume that I was the only one who was ever around, but now that I know!!

I always thought central was great for fixed riding as it's not busy like London, but does have loads of variation (and a pier)!!

  • P.S. I can't believe B'mouths got it's own fixed website. Fookin brilliant

  • yeah the sun shine and sea would bring a whole other look to them kandy kolored freek bikes on their pics, I only been down here few months but theres something about the air/sea.. maritime..? am i talking bollocks?

  • That Poole and Bournemouth are a bit of shit hole? Seriously hate living in Poole and Bournemouth.

  • I moved from Luton area....now have you ever been there?
Theres precisely no rushing people here compared to 50 mile around london, the roads are as fast as shit though like everywhere........

  • No I haven't had the pleasure. But I supposed it the grass is greener on the other-side effect. Though I have lived in Southampton for 4 years and I would rather slit my throat than return there even for a day trip, I just can't deal with the place. In both cases it is more me than anything else.

Personally I have lived here all my life and frankly am quite simply sick of it. Plan on leaving one day and never coming back.

  • i hear ya, we all need change, for now heres some reasons for this being the best place to live---shorts in the bag swim in the sea days after work, filtering through stationary traffic all the way round sandbanks, messing about on purbeck then beer at bankes arms, getting lost in wareham forest, not taking all day to get to devon and cornwall, every ride north from poole=slick and fast back downhill.........

  • My fokes moved to New forest a few years ago andI lived there for a year. The new forest is nice, and so it Purbeck and lots of the surrounding countryside but I'll agree Poole, Bournemouth, and Southampton all seemed like rubbish towns to me.

  • Are any of you guys affiliated with Bournemouth Jubilee? I tend to ride with them on Sunday morning when I'm down, albeit on the racer.

  • Ha! there are only a few of us down here riding fixed, 12 on a good day but we get out every sunday and in the summer most nights, most of us work in bike shops around the area, play a bit of polo in asda car park and are just talking to the council about using a basketball court in the area for polo in the summer and have managed to get it once a month, so if anyones in the area and wants to hook up let us know, woukd be good to see a few more faces....

  • lucas, i know what you mean about bomo. i'd lived in the area for pretty much my whole life before i went to uni. i never liked poole anyway, but since moving away i can't really deal with bomo either. it's just so small town & mostly full of twats! i do miss the beach & the countryside, but i don't think i could even move back there permanently. just use my folks place as a "holiday home" as it is easy access to portland & climbing...haha. tho i think a lot of places must feel like that once you've lived in london for a bit? i just can't seem to get my head round there only being a small handful of half decent places to go out, and pretty everything just locking down by 2 or so...haha.

  • yeah a few twats about! friday and saturday nights are full of over tanned bleached blond slappers and shirt and shoe brigade blokes.
