well we could have a whizz about on the addenbrookes fast road thing which meets the A10 next to trumpingotm P&R it's not open yet, so just imagine riding on the virgin road =)

thanks for the guide greenbank! i agree the a10 is a bit nasty, gt shelford would be our route back (well not me, i'm bailing there ala asseen), i've purposefully left duxford, ickleton, whittlesford et al out as i've cycled round there millions of times. the slightly western route i've shown is much prettier but more remote. the roads are generally single lane tarmac undulating through some beautiful countryside :) it almost reminds me of south france doing that route, without the cheese and garlic.

Cambridge - Ugley - Cambridge ride, ~50 miles, Saturday 14th March 09, 10am departure (TBC)
What a brilliant day me and Eddie had today! We covered 50 miles, took in the sights and delights of Ugley and Stansted Mountfitchet, had a nice pub lunch at the Beautiful Ugley Chequers, Eddie had his rear hub rebuilt for him for three pounds as it was on its last legs (!), and yours truly almost bailed 4 miles from home (!). Luckily Eddie spurred me on, and we cycled through the Spicers Whittlesford footpath.
Eddie would've covered a further 16 miles to get from home and back, so hats off to him! And the weather, unbelieveable, tail wind all the way south, with a hint of head wind on the way back, and mega head wind the last 10 miles or so. No rain. Sunshine in places. Cracking!

yeah it was rather lovely, great way to spend a saturday. ^^^^ saved me from writing that up, so im just gonna show the pictures from the ride. And no, sadly we didnt find the Ugley Womens Institute, and the rather beatiful women in the pub had us doubting to whether such place exists.
Anywho, pictazzz
Just as I arrived in Shelford, the bugger wanted to go straight away :) So i had a little rest and we cycled off.
We stumbled across this lovely place
This is where they make clouds, and no kids, its not evapourated water.
Somewhere, rather, the axle in me hub started to wobble quite annoyingly.
Bogey was taking the piss a bit, and not taking my problem seriosly :)
We later met his mechanic friend not far away who rebuilt my hub for cheap as chips (literally) and we were ready to move on.
We soon after arrived in Fugly
We were dissapointed
Then, we saw this, which cheered us up a bit
We felt hungry and thursty so we stopped at the Beautiful Ugley Chequers pub. Lovely little thing.
There we sat eating our food next to an R8 which belonged to some dude who kept on wizzing up and down the country roads we went on.
After a little munch munch we headed back
yah, i was in the middle of the road taking photos
The villages became so boring i took photos of my handlebars and decided it was a good idea not look where i was going.
I need to clean my bike
Bogey showed me an interesting detour with some crazy back roads, lovely though. Had great fun, shame not that many people came.
All i can say is people really need to start practicing if they're going on the twatt ride, makes you really understand how much pain it would be to cover 70-80 miles day after day for more than a week. Anyway great fun, hope people will gather more for such sunny days to ride out into the countryside.

apparently we could WALK that in 8 and a half days.
Google also warns you that the route maybe missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths, no shit! -

talked to Angelo today about it, he said he'll be happy to drive
the only thing is he has to be back by the 21st june (sunday) which means we will have to make this ride from sunday 7th to sunday 21st june.is that fine people?
Oh and we actually need to start orgonizing it, because we really only have two or so months left. Thursday discussion about this ride then, ya?
"The rainbow road" that's the train chasing route we take sometimes on a thursday if you're feeling too pasty to do Granhams hill. Bogey lives close to that so he probably deliberately avoided it or intends to bail out before Cambridge anyway
looking forward to using the all new path thats supposed to be created alongside the guided bus . Any one know when its finished or been on any section of it yet or know how good surface and wide it'll be?
