About 3 years ago a similar thing happened to my girlfriend at the time, except she was the one driving the sports car, and a cyclist did something similar - cyclist ended up paying her £4500 in damages as witnesses said he could have avoided hitting her.
Pretty pointless hitting something if you don't have too, no matter how funny it might seem, especially if you are employing inverse snobbery as your justification
