they are super heavy even with the low profile rims...the dark ages of bike building all over again.

freestyler = trick bike right?
weight matters very little -

Compared to a track bike heavy but I have no complaints with my Plug Racer's weight. Just done a lightweight MTB build and it feels like an immovable object to the Plug. Plus aren't they only marginally heavier than the Bianchi Pista, and have brakes?

anyone got a pair of the cable clips for a top tube to sell? pm me if so.
cheers

A bike bought because it's cool, by people who've missed the point entirely.
...the basic plug though was kinda ahead of it's time I guess. Like a cheap BMW track... from Somerset!

Yeah, Evans got Charge Plug in XS size.
You need to pay 50GBP so they could build it up for you (then it's usually ready after 1-2 days) but you can get your money back if you do not like the bike.
Mine was fine so I bought it. :) -

only a couple pounds heavier really.

I am 170cm, got a plug freestyler in small, works actally fine, think an XS would have a too short top tube (at least for me). Also, don t know about the others, but on the freestyler I need to change the hubs after a month, maybe they were not set properly (I did not check before the rear one started to move around the axle and the cap popped out).

Thanks Ed. Your Pista look ace btw, there's something about a very simple black and chrome colour scheme
And the chrokme is why I bought my Plug Racer ahead of the Pista and although I think they over complicated the colours (chrome and black, then white, then a red chain) I still think it is a fine looking and fine handling bike, and very strong which suits my fat arse. May be heavy but a better option than a flexy track iron IMO, at least for me

ah nice, i'll look into it. thanks

I've always thought it weird that for a "freestyler" bike, it doesn't barspin without some botching done to it. I like Charge as a company (I have a racer which I'm slowly demolishing), but I don't think this freestyler was very well realised.
Also, EWWWWW RED AND GREEN. -

it wasn't intended to be an actual trick bike in the first place methinks, just intended to be those HHSB we see every now and then.
Jimmy, ta mate, unfortuantly it's going to be sold, got a Bob Jackson heading on it's way to replace it.

A bigger photo makes it better somehow?

Half-link chain fail. Those things are doomed from the moment you put them on.

Think i'm going to have to save up a little bit for this one, can't really push to £500+ atm.
Jobless student! (I'm not lazy, no work going round here!). Last bike was stolen aswel (shite mtb) but at least i had wheels then. Looks like I might have to try and build myself a little beater for now or at least wait and see what the balance is at after next loan instalment.. -

Track iron will be anything but flexy, for the track stiffness matters more than weight. I would guess the Plug's are heavy because of the plain gauge thick tubing which is more a sign of cheap tubing than trying to gain additional strength.
Saying that, probably only a pound or so in it will may not be that noticable when actually riding it which is what matters.

this makes that last thread on a mass LFGSS brawl quiet appealing
