  • I'm guessing it must have been one of those then, although I'm sure it had drops. And I think he had curly hair too.

  • Spotted two fixed gears each with 2 brakes and mud guards, one was possibly a kona and the other not too sure. they each were cycling past the sea wall on the downs about two minutes apart.
both were wearing messenger bags and had helmets

  • you out dogging blankface?

If one was a bright red Raleigh then it was probably me.

  • i'll let you off the dogging accusation as i know you live around those parts mr gbitch.

  • The downs dogger's route has provided some very amusing night rides.

  • you out dogging blankface?

I was actually out for a nice ride cough
some funny sights to be had on the doggers route when weve gona on late night rides though.

  • That would be me then... Yep, I ride with two brakes cos it came with them... ;o)

Which would be your bike? The blue On-One?

Nope - I'm the one who rides the Charge Plug with the white bar tape and white Deep Vs - but am now riding with my stock winter wheels at the moment, and the rear brake on the front...

  • bikes outside of start the bus last night, 3 of them next to mine, think one was djc's bianchi plus two others..and one today too. a scuffed looking affair with phils and quick looking wheels.

  • opposite my place on cotham hill this morning, a middle aged man with a hi viz jacket and backpack with a full orange build. looked a little like an iro but couldnt be sure. orange frame forks, bar tape, deep section rims too i think. i like orange but i didnt like that much. and he locked it in a crap place too in front of someones door so it fell over when the lady came out. she was nice though and picked it back up...

its weird to see so many bikes all the time since 18 months ago i'd seen two others in 5 years i think. i suppose its a good thing, just weird.

  • think i saw mrwheelers raleigh conversion locked up at bower today? thats if hes sprayed the front wheel silver.

  • exchanged locking space (lamp post) with a chap on a red singlespeed conversion running on the middle ring and with the casette still on the back. just a front brake. very very nearly said, get a front brake mate but resisted the temptation... oh and it was outside the art shop (harold hockey) at the top of whiteladies.

  • shoulda told him and done everyone a favour.

think i saw steamroller's steamroller and another singlespeed at the bouldering centre last night?

How do you think I feel after moving from Birmingham?! (A veritable bicycle desert)

As a transport planner specialising in sustainable transport, I have to say that I don't care how much of it is fashion or whatever - more bums on saddles can only be a good thing. On that note I'm now off to present my case for some highway improvements (improvements for peds and cyclists) to the lead member of Solihull council - how fucking virtuous do I feel!

  • tonite (tuesday 17th) blue bianchi pista with bullhorns locked up by river next to favell house student accommodation and that posh boat restaurant / cider bar place if you know where i mean? 8.40pm havn't seen it before anyones?

  • Not strictly Bristol, but saw a guy stood outside The Globe pub just ouside Bath, next to his bike, looked like it had a front aerospoke, bullhorns & a front brake, couldn't see much as it was dark & I was in my car!

  • G-Bitch, do you reckon you could push for an update of the painted bike on the road? you could have different styles depending on where you are... a hipster one with risers and spok's, a drug dealer one with a rubbish full suspension mountn bike on the pavement, a commuter one with a bromton etc etc. or just get he picture changed to something that actually looks like a bike....

hope your improvement plans were well received by the way..

  • saw kling klang yesterday afternoon exiting a building.

  • last night, someone getting on the train to london with a fixed mixte with what looked like a crazy low gear... someone going to play polo perhaps?

oh, and some hipster types in bath. a 7005 alloy sticker on an old claud butler steel conversion?? some flat peaked caps and big glasses.

  • I've seen that Kling Klang in and out of buildings all over the shop - he's a menace!

  • bottom of park street today.
a guy about 60 years young with a set of aerospokes!

  • Temple Meads this morning in the ticket queue.
Black Langster with red-taped bullhorns. Fixed, heavily shredded back tyre and flat pedals w/ no clips! Dude gave me a moody look when he caught me clocking his bike...

Classic idea - however I fear it would be lost on anyone outside London. Fortunately I don't get involved in anything as mundane as signing & lining except for requesting it!

  • Locked up in Broadmead this lunchtime... blue and yellow Kobra(?)... geared with only a front brake... WTF?

  • Red fg/ss Colnago, brown leather seat, gingerly approaching Park Street. Hope he made it.
