to a point, have you heard of a photographer called Tim Walker? he did fashion photography using medium format, and in his recent book (called Pictures), he stated that he never use digital maniplation at all in all his photo.
How you think fashion photography deal with it in the past? Photoshop is a life saver for sorting out small error such as stray hair for instance.
