I drive a car. I do not hate cyclists when I do. Occasionally I meet people who only drive cars who tell me that they would be too scared to cycle and then tell me that they hate cyclists. I tell them that the reason that they are scared to cycle is that they know that there are wankers like them in cars. The conversation usually ends at that point.

possibly beacuse at least 50% of cyclists on the road are clueless idiots?....just a thought....(awaits torrent of abuse...)

because cyclists ride on pavements, jump red lights and run people over at pedestrian crossings. if i was a non-cyclist i think those would be the reasons i would give (i'm not a driver but as a pedestrian cyclists doing these things have caused me to take evasive action)

But not every cyclist rides on the pavement nor carves up pedestrians at crossing. People generalise and they generalise because they are inherently racist.

Today a TWAT in a Merc 4x4 (possibly the worst of the worst car!?) drove directly AT me and a girl on a townbike in front of me, cos we had the temerity to use a one way the wrong way. One of those roads that is constantly switching from one way to another, and tons of cyclists ignore it constantly.

If they put their hand in the fire, would you?

Unhappy truth.

I remember cycling behind a cyclist who seemed to want to cross over to the over side of the road. He then spotted a zebra crossing and cycled over it at a fair pace, forcing an uncoming car to brake sharply.

I remember thinking 'wanker' and catching the drivers eyes, who then mouthed something which looked decidedly unfriendly to me. WTF?

Isn't it because they are sat in jams whilst we whizz past them at high speed metaphorically flicking them the Vs? They've spent all that money on a car expecting to drive freely on beautiful roads like in car adverts then reality hits when it takes them an hour to drive 5 miles across London.
