  • ! I locked it up about 12:10pm so you must have been hot on my heels. Are you a regular there?

It was stolen sometime between the above and about 7:30pm - guessing it was whilst it was dark. What was very strange is that there were no bikes there when I returned - very unusual for that particular set of racks. Perhaps a bulk white van & specialist tools job.

7 hours! to be quite honest, that's a very long time to lock a decent bike up outside, after all you did get back at 7.30, the bike probably got stolen between 5.30 to 7.30, that give the theft 2 hours to cut the bike at dusk.

sorry to hear about your bike gotten stolen thought, if I were you, try and find an old road bike, stripped all the geared part (leave the brake), I got a rear wheel with an freewheel sproket if you want to buy it off me for £30, it even got a decent tyres on, so it's ready to run.

hopefully the overall cost will stay under £100 (assuming you pay at least £70 for an old working road bike).

chance are they're less likely to nick it since it just a shitty (but working) bike and you don't need to worry that much if it does get nicked.
