I think posting the photo of someone who somehow "accidentally" ended up with another person's bike, works as a deterrent to such future shenanigans.

If I attended a party and someone attending the same party somehow ended up with my bike, I promise you, it would get very very very very nasty.
Exceptions would be made for friends or trusted acquaintances; not strangers.
Maybe I'm just weird, that I would be angry as hell if my bike was taken by a stranger.
