Furthermore, it was THE only bike in the hallway that night, so he must have see it, no? Ergo, when he allegedly went down to brick lane to allegedly purchase the bike he would have recognised that it was stolen? Your argument is horribly weak.

He didn't say he got it at Brick Lane, he told me earlier that day that he was borrowing it off someone, and as soon as your friend mentioned the party it clicked and he gave it straight back without question. I don't think he deserves a d-lock to the head from some rabid fgss forum users recognising him in the street.
