people claim that 853 rides nicely.
What is said is that the joints in 853 are stiffer due to the air hardening qualities of 853 and perhaps that affects the ride ?

i can't say anything since i've not ridden an 853, but if it goes by previous claims with other tubesets, the ride quality is more to do with who made it and how they made it.

And if the same person made it the same way but from 631 could you tell? I really do think too much importance is put on it all and don't believe anyone can actually tell the difference as the differences in metal are too small for the rider to be able to detect through a seat and with suspension created by the tyres.
