not trying to be harsh, but "this is london". anywhere you leave your bike it's a gamble for stuff to be stolen. £50-100 brooks saddles are an easy target for thieves.
So any time that anything gets stolen we just shrug our shoulders and go 'pffft'? No. We have a right to be angry when our personal property is violated, as much as if someone were to attack us or break into our house. I won't just accept this because "it's London". Don't think my bike would be any safer if it was a rusty old mountainbike.
i know this is a bit callous but do you think there are any members of this fine forum who are on here just to find out about parties / nights outs etc who know where bikes will be at certain times
lurkers checking to find out where bikes will be parked that evening ?
that is what I was wondering initially but hearing other people's opinions of the area maybe it's not as calculated as that, but people who know that regularly there a nice bikes at the pubs in the area
Really unfortunate, one of the reasons we keep going back to the Horseshoe over the last 8 years is because this doesn't normally happen.
I had always felt perfectly happy leaving my bike there previously. To be honest I though it was quite a posh area...it's not exactly Kingsland Road, is it?!
Skully: I do still have my Brooks from the polo tourney and I would LOVE lettering on it! Will PM you.
Also liked the suggestion of the funny shaped nuts - cheaper and more flexible than Pitlock, thank you markjohnson for that.
