no but what they will do is drive after you, catch you up, drive into the side of you and send you flying to hospital.
trust me I know.
It hurts.
A lot, then you have to recover- even if you don't have any broken bones. concussion is a bitchSince then, I dont jump red lights.

my mate, thecrane went past a red light in liverpool st. and carried on going, a police van then proceeded to turn on its sirens and chase him down the road until he decided to pull over, they then arrested him for having no ID and no proof of not being a terrorist and was taken down to the station.
sometimes u can get away though just maybe not when its a police vehicle -

ever.and maybe add resisting arrest (or similar) for good measure. and i might be corrected but i heard you can have points placed on your car licence. that is also a thing that sticks in my mind when i approach a red light and the urge comes over me to just continue riding

I even got stopped in Birmingham, barely anyone even cycles here!
There seems to be some sort of national crackdown.
It was a busy ped crossing on the high street, I waited till the lights changed then rushed through the crowd ringing my newly installed bell furiously (just to test/for laughs)
Popo man rode up and caught up with me (I hadnt noticed him) and pulled me over. He didnt beleive me at all about stopping at the light. So I just did the apologetic, "you are important and better than me" routine and wiggled my way out of a fine.

One of my friends was literally kicked down from bicycle by policeman when he just kept going after the policeman told him to stop. He was then arested. I would always stop.

i got stopped by a police car in the back streets of peckham for going through a red at about 1am, which i had stopped for, seen the other lights change to red, and gone through. managed to bite my tongue and get off a fine though...

Just ought to add that IF pulled over, then of course I would of make eye contact! I'm talking about when cycling generally. Just read my first post and realised it could be misconstrued.

Yea, if you notice them don't look, just keep on staring straight ahead.
But it always funny noticing them just as your going through a red light, so you do your best to stop and end up in the middle of the road.
Done it a few times given quite a few police men/women a nice giggle.

Failing to stop is now an arrestable offence; time in the cells, a court appearance and a hefty fine.

I know that now, it was only my silver tongue that got me unarrested. I'm such a charmer.

its actually 60quid on the spot for running a red light
its 30 quid for not having either front/rear light. 60quid for not having any lights. They give ya a ticket on the spot.
If you run, just make sure you are quick, very quick. It's not as severe here in Cambridge, we have one of the lousiest police services in the country but London i would presume has tough policemen who will bust a cap in ya' ass to make sure you dont run again.

It's £30 for jumping a red light, riding on the pavement, wrong way down a one way st etc.

Varies according to police service - I think FPNs by police in the royal parks are a different amount from those issued by the Met? I am too lazy to google this though, so could be making stuff up.
-

Yup, royal parks are different and very expensive, otherwise it's £30.
I actually cant believe this
there is another post on hear about being stopped by the police and giving tickets
I haven’t been to central London for a couple of years
how can you get a ticket, surely you can just keep riding, what they going to do run behind you saying pull over and stick a siren on there hat lol
sorry if you think I’m being a dick but I can’t stop laughing reading them
