  • And I'd still rather ride that cheap old fashioned bent up hetchings bike, (in case anyone is throwing one away).

Especially as it seems to be balancing unaided. Clever bike.

  • it was on purpoise!

    :)

I absolutely love this bike. I think the look of it is exactly what I'm after. Ilove how simple it looks/is. I think that's what a lot of people want from a fixed/track back - simplicity. All I need to do now is get somebody to let me try it for the ride! I'm not too bothered about the frame being Ti, it just adds something extra to an already beautiful bike. The weight wouldn't really be much of an issue as steel can be made light enough.
    Anyway, I want one!

*Edit: What are those cages? Anyone tried them? I'm intrigued to find out how they ride and whether they are readily available.

  • Beautiful. But then I would think that. Obviously a bit of air in those tyres wouldn't go amiss. And at $2000 it ain't cheap.

  • a realy beauty.

  • this is nice though

very nice bike but i think for the track it would be too flexible

  • very nice bike but i think for the track it would be too flexible

I would have thought the tiny rear triangle was quite stiff. Could be wrong though.

  • to me thats a bike to look at but not ride.

Is that not the definition of porn?

  • fixed.

  • gold pauls, interesting

  • gold pauls???? bleurgh

  • just saw this on HK fixed... fred you're famous!

You sure are getting around a bit Fred ;-)

When did you de-sticker the wheel?

  • the tiny rear triangle wouldnt make much a difference
when the front triangle is so messed up
and there is a massive gap and no seat tube to reinforce the triangle

  • or like this even, but the sloping top tube is an epic fail

Reading gogosama's post. A standard low-pro frame would be stiffer.

Looking at Dylans pic. The bike now has two 50ish cm lenghs of steel tubing less, so some weight saved there.

I'm going to guess that a standard frame containing fewer tubes and fewer wields, is cheaper.

So Mr Bontrager was wrong you can have stiffer, lighter, and cheaper. Its just a case of what you out start with.

  • basically yes
Mr Bontrager had a pipe dream
but its still beautiful non the less

  • nice one ... would ride it

  • this is nice though

    Is it a softride?

this one isn't quite as good looking, but it is fixed.....

  • I saw one of those fuckers locked up on the kings road last night.
    i want a go.

  • it's called a "soft ride" not a "lardy ride"

    :p

  • probably better suited to you then, titmilk.

    :P

  • very nice!

  • This is what became of my old Vivalo, brought a little tear to my eye and a nice warm feeling to know that Chris(crabtree off here) has done a stirling job!
Well done my friend, well done

    Gx

  • ahhh i fucking love that! even with the mismatching tyres.

I have a feeling Chris brought that Concor saddle from TokyoFixedGear.
