how many "slack chains" ?
-
• #54
^^ search up there ^^
Just choose "posts" as the result, and look at the count in the top right hand corner afterwards.
If you want to search by a user... use the Advanced Search and make sure you view the results as Posts to get the count.

Where's the search function to search for anagrams of 'chris crash'?
-
• #56
1) Google an anagram solver.
2) Enter "chris crash".
3) Extract all anagram results.
4) Search here one at a time... OR create a Boolean search to search google for all of them and add site:londonfgss.com -

BTW, if anyone can get any meaningful things out of that data... feel free to let me know.
And... the stats are indicators only. They do not reflect users who use adblock & have blocked Google Analytics, mobile users, people with funny browsers (lynx users!) and stuff like that.
The troughs in the all-time stats are: Christmas '07 and Christmas '08... and the one inbetween was moving servers and software.
Just looking at media owner page views at work.... we are currently on par with the Economist uk website.

In terms of page views; ad.com charge about £2.20 for a standard banner / skyscraper per thousand.
That means that one banner / skyscraper (if shown to every page view) would generate £5,039.91 gross income for the period Dec 26 - Jan 25.

I'm not sure what your point is? Registered users don't see ads. Are you saying they should?

WTF?
I'm clearly the worst person in the world to run this place, so not business minded. Here I am wondering whether bumping the RAM up would be affordable, and you're telling me the site should be bringing in £5k per month! For that I could put it on several machines and speed the place up even more :D
Now... how do we go about getting such cash?

Well, ad.com (now platform-A) are a site network which means you basically pay to run impressions across their network blind (ie no site disclosure). So if you are cycle surgery, for example, and you buy 2m impressions you pay £2.20 per thousand impressions or £4,400 to appear to every user on every page view.
As this site is not a network, you could conceivably (if selling to the right buyer ie cycle surgery) charge more per thousand impressions as you are not blind selling (the buyer knows which site their ad will appear on).
As i only deal with large networks / media owners (newsweek, cnn, bbc world etc) i'm not sure what infostructure costs there would be. Most of the costs would be hosting the ad (bandwidth costs) but these are usually paid for by the person supplying the ad.
Still, couple of grand a month is tempting...

Yeah, sell ad-space, why not? i think it'd be cool. we wouldn't have to look so hard to for interesting bike shops and offers and stuff.
how does 'repost' score?
