I've just finished my Katana Tsunami, built with:
Nitto NJS bars and seatpost
Soyo grips
SR NJS stem
Planet X tub wheels with Conti Duraskin tubs
Truvativ Omnium cranks
105 front brake with Kore suicide leverIt's gorgeous BUT I built it up to commute on, only to find my local train co wonn't take bikes (other than the folding variety!!!) so now I'm goin to have to sell it to invest in a (gulp) folder instead.....might be interested in a partial swap deal....but bear in mind it cost me £1300 to build and its been ridden up the road ONCE!!!!
I'm going to list it on the classifieds section once I'm out of the nursery (!!).....look out for it!

Holy crap - what a gyp.
Can you take the front wheel off, pop it in a wheelbag, and blag it as luggage? -
• #5379
just give it a go on the trains.. i don't think you're officially meant to take them onto trains on my line but i do anyway and no ones ever said anything to me.
at least give it a go before selling it. such a shame.

the only ride I've done on it was down to the station last week....to be turned back by the guard...so I know they won't let me on....(London Midland)...on their website, it says it's won to the discretion of the guard on the day, which is such a lottery it's not worth the risk of being late (I work for myself so time's money as they say).....
I've got another track bike that I race on, so won't be giving up fixed, but the Katana is a bit too nice to sit in the garage and not get ridden...so better to sell nd take the hit I think
I'm after something like a Mezzo D9 or D10.....anyone got one they'd do a cash/swap deal for???

Still doing a bit of work on that "supermarked" LoPro that I have been writing a bit about.. Still checking skips for a 32h 700c 21-22mm rim and a 26" front-wheel so that I can run 1.3inch / 28mm tires :)
Got the stuck seat post out of it a few weeks ago, it looked like this after getting it out..

So do you reckon you will be able to save that seatpost and reuse?
-
• #5383
Not quite sure... It is a bit on the heavy side though, so I don't think I'll bother ;)

A not quite so big, and not quite so tasty framed Raleigh as the previous one, cost me £13 and is from 1987 going off the date stamp on the hubs:
Just dropped it to SS for starters and seriously considering stripping it down to build up the Claud Butler which is still gathering dust and is a much nicer frame, albeit in need of a paint job whereas this isn't.
Since taking the pic, I've swapped the stem for a longer one, and set the chain a bit tighter. The remainder of the Bar tape needs to go - it's filthy but could've been nice when new, also the tyres are about shot to bits - most of the side walls have perished...
Not sure what's going on with the rear rack angle either- the bracket doesn't seem to allow for levelling it off.

My two: a 1954 Mercian road/path, and a c.1950s 'Edwardes'. Much as I like the poo brown, the Mercian will be going for a clean up and a respray shortly. The 26 x 1 1/4 wheels on the Edwardes need replacing and it's currently a 5-speed, but it should make a nice vintage fixie for the wife.

I finally got my dave russell conversion built up (cheers dwayne)
light as chuff. Had a quick roll around on sunday morning to try out atac's (ace) in preparation for my first week riding to work. Then all this white stuff comes down so it's sat in the front room looking sad. -

Going to spend a bit of money on the Ciocc as I want to do it justice :) only just bought the Carlton and it hasn't arrived yet so I'll decide once I see how nice it is.
almost finished, just waiting for a fyxomatosis 39T chainring. also, had to use my old deep v's (instead of hope freedom 29er rims) albeit stripped as i got sent 32H instead of 36H profiles. stripped a nice chris king, stripped stem, seat collar, chainring. odyssey twisted clear pedal with homemade power-straps. laced the stripped deep v's 4 cross with plain guage spokes to double fixed profiles. also changed to rolls due titanium saddle.
