Hell, I did a spinning session down the gym one week with a bunch of randoms and they all thought I was a nutter because of the cadence I was doing. I thought it was quite fun!
I did a couple of those recently, yeah definitely fun maxing yourself out for an hour. Awkward to do that in the cold winter streets.
The thing I was looking forward to though was seeing if I could get to 160rpm and how long I could keep it. (the aussie coach mentions 160rpm is race cadence) however even though the gym is kitted out with the latest blingest bikes with digital monitors. The RPM only goes up to 139rpm. It then says "STOP" like a danger warning! Annoying because high cadence bursts is what I wanted to work on. I tried the freewheel bikes too, but they are the same, stop at 139rpm. I obviously still tried to max it, but its good to know your benchmarks.
